Jayne grunted as he leaned over the foot board, pushing it forward before shifting over a bit to slam his hand against the edge so that everything would lock into place. Then he straightened as he looked at the bed. He brushed his hands over his hips, fighting off the nervous flutter in his stomach as he nodded his head slowly. River had been sleeping with him every night as was but his cot just wasn't big enough for the both of them. It was fun, having her draped over him, that didn't bother him at all but this bed would give them more room. For sleeping....for sex too. He liked that thought.
He had sent Zoe and Inara to keep River busy while he went out after they docked. They took her out onto Ariel somewhere while he wandered out to do some shopping and such. The bed had been his main purchase but he had come back with a few things for his girl. Now he felt a bit silly, ain't like he ever bought something for a girl before. He's bought girls, but never nothing for them. He looked over at the long rosewood chinese box that was sitting on his dresser. He really hoped that she would like it all.
Moving over to where the mattress was leaning against the wall, he grunted as he grabbed either side and then turned slowly to move it across to the bed.

Just Words? (for

He sighed, closing his eyes as he couldn't stand to see the pain on her face. It hurt him as well but he kept his features as stoic as he could though there was no real point. She could read his mind after all. Holding her wrists gently, he looked at her, "Maybe but he's serious about them, River." He nodded his head, letting go of her wrists and letting his hands fall back to his sides. "If he knew what I did to you, he'd throw me out into space without shooting me first. Ain't no way a man should go like that."
He took a step back, needing some space between them so he wouldn't be tempted to pull her into his arms and hold her. To soothe away the pain. He tilted his head to the side, "You should stay far from me." God, even that was hard to say.

Gorram... *muttered curses* (for

Gorram girl was going to be the death of him, he could tell it now. There was a large part of him that was entirely amused and aroused by the fact that a little freak was coming out of her but at the same time, she was going to get him killed! One of these times he was going to forget himself and he was going to get caught!
Climbing down the ladder into his bunk, he continued to grumble as he yanked the knife out of the apple and then flung it as hard as he could. Didn't care as the knife was buried in the wood chest that he kept at one side of the room. He took a bite of his apple, a rather vicious one as he stalked over to plop onto the bed and try to keep himself calm. It was hard though.
All last night he hadn't been able to sleep. He had spent all night wishing he could go to her or wishing that she would come to him. Plenty of times that he laid there, hoping to hear her shuffling feet on his floor before feeling her warm body crawl into his bed. He sighed, raking a hand over his face as he muttered, "Gorram fool." He chucked the apple into the waste bin, rising to his feet and grabbing his shirt to peel it off over his head.
He wasn't the type of man to get twisted up over a girl but there was something about her! He had to. It wasn't safe to get involved with any woman and that included his sw...no. River. She wasn't his. He cursed again as he walked over to the bar that he had set up, grabbing onto it and started to do chin ups, hoping the work out would soothe him.
